@pierre no prob on the settings for a fold line as opposed to a cut line - 30 mins trial and error with each thickness of acrylic will do it - preassign a certain colour of line to that parameter and voila. Actually, it was making the makerspace shop signs with the out-of-focus pin-stripe pass that showed the out of focus potential to me.
And yes, this is a very, very interesting sub-topic; the Blender sculpture concept would be taken to a whole new “how the hell did he do that???” level.
I have just breezed through and love the idea. I would like to make one of these for myself. I have good quality jobsite tools that I have brought to the space before and am willing to bring for this. Most importanty I have a table saw and daddo set to 3/4. If anything else is needed let me know.
it looks like he bolted most if it together which would definitely make it easier to move if required, and make it easy to shim the linear rails as you say. It is hard to make out from the video but it looks like the large tubes on which the linear rails are mounted are themselves adjustable up and down? It looks like a well thought out setup … relatively easy to get it setup.
It looks very solid but also looks heavy … could the bed be made with smaller tubing?
