MakeS it Blink: January Arduino Workshop

  • @kile Awesome. Thanks!

  • Design Lab

    @kile it would be good to pick a late February date and start advertising it sooner rather than later. We get an advertising boost just sharing our upcoming events - the more lead time the better, both in terms of participation and exposure for the Space.

    The more we share our events and activity on the facebook page, the better. It keeps interest up and our funders and supporters like seeing it, too!

    @Vaughn, if I pick a date, it would probably be late March rather than February. If there is a significant expression of interest here, we can move it up. I would like to ensure that the workshops are well attended.

    I’ll give it a few days and see if we get much interest.

    @Riss, I’ve talked to @Ron_Ron, and we can probably fit you into this weeks workshop if you are still interested/available.

  • Thanks! I appreciate it! Ron messaged me as well.

  • Design Lab

    @kile Late March is great! - if you pick a date we can get an ad up asap and start sharing it. Hungry for shareable content and 101’s for the facebook, which is seeing great activity and exposure.

    Thanks for doing this - it helps the Space on multiple levels!

    #include <Adafruit_NeoPixel.h>

    // What is the data pin connected to your lights?
    #define PIN A5

    // How many NeoPixels are attached to the Arduino?
    #define NUMPIXELS 14

    Adafruit_NeoPixel strip = Adafruit_NeoPixel(NUMPIXELS, PIN, NEO_GRB + NEO_KHZ800);

    void setup() {

    for(int i=2;i<NUMPIXELS;i++)
    strip.begin(); // This initializes the NeoPixel library.; // This sets all pixes to off

    void loop() {

    strip.setPixelColor( 4, 1, 1, 1); // (pixel#,rValue,gValue,bValue)
    strip.setPixelColor( 13, 255, 255, 255);;

  • I want to thank everyone for coming out.

  • Ok - that was a lot of fun! Can’t wait until the next class on Adruino class - maybe that stepper motor class againÉ

    Yes, thanks to everyone who attended, I feel like it went well.

    If anyone has any questions, or suggestions on how we could make the next round work better, I would be happy to hear them, so please email me!

    I’ll try to get my notes/instructions sent out in a summary document this week. Thanks again!
