Scanning with the office photocopier.

  • I needed to scan a document today, so I got the scanner working on the photocopier in the office in a reasonable manner.

It can now scan over the network and send the files to both the computer in the hack room and the computer in the design lab. I’ll set up some other locations if someone suggests them.

    Here’s how to use it:

Load your source document onto the bed or the document feeder.

Press the “Send” button on the panel.

Select “Address Book” on the menu on the touch screen.

Select “Hack Room Computer” or “Design Lab Computer” on the touch screen.

Hit “OK” on the touch screen.

Select Color or B&W (and optionally select a different file format, it’ll default to pdf, but jpg is an option here) and hit the green “Start” button on the panel.

Wait for it to finish scanning, adding additional pages to the feeder if needed.

Now go to the computer and open the file manager.

    Look in the scan directory.

You’ll find a PDF with all of your pages inside.

    Hope that helps somebody.
